Microplastics are tiny plastic particles that form as larger plastics break down over time. They are now found in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat, raising growing concerns about their impact on human health and the environment. Researchers have detected microplastics in various parts of the human body, and while studies are ongoing, scientists are increasingly concerned about potential effects on hormones, organs, and overall wellness.
Reducing our exposure to microplastics starts with limiting single-use plastics, choosing reusable and natural materials when possible, and supporting cleaner, more sustainable products and packaging.
