Defend Our Health Action (formerly Prevent Harm) was the 501(c)4 advocacy partner of Defend Our Health, a 501(c)3 nonprofit which has fought for safe food, safe drinking water, healthy homes, and toxic-free and climate friendly products since its founding in 2002.
As the political and policy landscape evolved, it became clear that other entities in Maine were better positioned to lead on electoral politics regarding toxics and other health and environmental issues. Defend Our Health Action’s board of directors therefore voted to close the c4 organization in 2025.
Defend Our Health continues its advocacy and policy work with renewed strength and focus, and we continue to engage with community members, scientists, industry, and policymakers in Maine and nationwide to push for a toxic-free tomorrow!
