This week, our six talented interns started their summer at the Strategy Center. Please join us in welcoming Grace, Isa, Caroline, Izzy, Riley, and Riena!

Hailing from colleges in Maine, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, these passionate and skilled young organizers are at the heart of our mission. We’re looking forward to training and educating the next generation of environmental health champions.

To that end, we make sure that our interns’ summer is spent gaining confidence and leadership skills by giving them abundant on-the-ground experience as community organizers, campaigners, and leaders for change.

This summer, our interns will travel across the state, visiting Maine communities far and wide to organize at the grassroots. They’ll help rural families test their well water for arsenic, and assist them with accessing treatment. They’ll be deeply involved in our outreach to Maine’s candidates for governor and the next legislature, helping to educate candidates about the crisis of toxic chemicals in our food, water, and products, and the need for a more sustainable and healthy economy.

They’ll gain tremendous experience as environmental health campaigners, and we’re already certain that we’ll be sad to see this talented group leave at the end of the program.

It’s thanks to your support that our internship program is possible. If you’d like to join us as a volunteer to support our advocacy work this summer, please email us at action@ourhealthyfuture.org.
