This week, we interviewed Dr. Shanna H. Swan, professor of environmental medicine and public health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

One of the world’s leading environmental and reproductive epidemiologists, she’s the incredible scientist whose new book, Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race, is tackling the issue of how toxic chemicals are hijacking our health and fertility.

Defend Our Health’s national campaign director, Brandon Moore, spoke with Dr. Swan about how these chemicals enter our bodies, our food supply, and why she refers to phthalates and other classes of chemicals as silent, ubiquitous threats.
