A recent op-ed in the Kennebec Journal calls tests and treatment of arsenic in private wells a state problem, and calls for support of L.D. 1162 and L.D. 937. The bills would increase awareness of the problem, improve testing, and help low-income families eliminate deadly chemicals like arsenic and radon from their drinking water.
