Representative Ryan Fecteau (D-Biddeford), represents House District 11 and serves as Assistant House Majority Leader.
Rep. Fecteau showed great legislative leadership and initiative as lead sponsor of LD 1698, a renewable chemicals tax credit, currently awaiting Governor Janet Mills’ signature, which will revitalize Maine communities with the creation of high-paying jobs manufacturing climate-friendly products.
“If we are going to ensure a healthy environment that continues to support so many Maine industries, sustains the wildlife who call Maine home and maintains the beauty that is so unique to our state, we need a comprehensive approach across our government,” said Rep. Fecteau. “I am grateful to Rep. Fay and Sen. Foley for their leadership and am honored to receive this award alongside them.”
Rep. Fecteau, born and raised in Biddeford, operates a retail store in Ogunquit, Maine. Fecteau is the second youngest member of the Maine legislature and the youngest openly gay state representative in the United States. In 2015, Rep. Fecteau won the Trevor Project’s Youth Innovator of the Year Award for his dedication and support for the LGBTQ community. Rep. Fecteau studied political science and theology and religious studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. This is his third term as member of the Maine House.
Please join us on Thursday, October 17 at the Celebration for Our Healthy Future to recognize Rep. Fecteau’s leadership.
